1.   Northern Sky
Piano based pop rock. Nick Drake is an artist who influenced my somewhat "altered" consciousness when I first started playing 24 yrs ago.. this is my tribute to him and his beautiful songs
2.   Look At This Place
Acoustic rock. Penned this one after Bush had "won", and completed it when the planet mars was hanging up in our faces. The god of war and all that... mostly I was trying to capture a sadness that we are so polarized in our country today
3.   Holy Water
Bluesy acoustic piece in 6/8 with the fretless (bass) prominent in the sound, and the violin answering the emotion of the lyric; a lyric that longs to break all the boundaries of skin and bone and find god in the wreckage
4.   Myself for a Living
Folk, guitar and mandolin. Song for all the artists out there, this song is about doing what you love, following your dream, all the stuff that moves us forward
5.   Where Are You Now?
Fingerstyle guitar ballad. Either a long distance lover song, or a break up song... or both! Pretty picking, and the violin'll break your heart
6.   Swim This
Contemporary acoustic in altered tuning. One of my faves... it came through me pretty much in one piece, one of those gift songs...
7.   Slip Away
Pop - a little funky elect. piano bops it. This lyric was inspired by a Krispy Kreme donut sign on hwy I-35 late one night after a gig in Dallas
8.   People Drink
Folk w electric lead. Written in Z Tejas's beautiful bar (in Austin) while watching a gorgeous young woman totally lose her grace thanks to 6 shots of tequila in 20 minutes
9.   Only a Dream
Almost old-timey, folk. Written by a friend of mine about her divorce, this is the most imagistically full and visual break up song I know
10.   All That You Have Given to Me
Contemporary folk. Post-break-up tune expressing gratitude for the good stuff
11.   Temple
Percussive vocal piece. The title track, a song that speaks my belief that gratitude is a powerful path to getting more enjoyment out of life
